The Way out
Then I remembered what I heard the judge tell my friend, Herman, in traffic
court, "There are only three ways you can get out of the Oregon motor vehicle
laws - move to Arkansas, or move to Canada, or DIE."
Glory to God! That’s the answer. Romans, Chapter 7, says it all - we must
die:
4Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law
through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another, even to Him
who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. . . . 6Now
we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by.
Romans 7:4, 6
If I wanted to be delivered from the heavy burdens of the law, and live in
perfect liberty, the old self must die and a new man be born. If the old man7
died, I wouldn’t have to rescind a single document. I’d just start a new life
and let the dead bury their own dead8
17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old
things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians
5:17
Christ’s way - the only way out of the world system - is to die. Yes, fall to
the ground and die. You must die in order to bear much fruit.9 How
does that apply today? The old man, whose name has been registered and numbered
and licensed with the world, must die.
If you are to be released from their control, you’ll need to sell everything
recorded under that name and die. Then you are reborn into Christ’s government
and become a new creature. And the new creature receives a new name - given by
God, not man.
7 - the term "old man" is used in this book to designate the man born of
the flesh who has not been reborn into the Spirit.
8 - Matthew 8:22 But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and let the dead bury
their own dead."
9 - John 12:24
